The updates to content continue to WOTLK Gold roll out in World of Warcraft , with the patch of last week 7.2.5 that brought flying and a new raid and bunch of other changes into Azeroth. Before the launch of the content we spoke to Paul Kubit, senior game designer for World of Warcraft , about the way Blizzard approach these ".5" patches in the context of micro-holidays, their state and keeping players entertained regardless whether they've been playing since launch or they're just starting to play.

P2Pah: P2Pah's timing for this update, hitting during E3. Was that intentional? Could it be that this is the best time of the development calendar to put out the update? Or do you feel that this is a different crowd? E3 is more console-oriented feeling versus what World of Warcraft players are searching for?

I don't believe we thought about it as much. When we launched Legion We had a pretty holistic plan of making sure that we had a lot of patches released; often enough for the content train to depart the station. It didn't matter if that particular patch was delivering a new outdoor zone for questing , or a brand-new raid or just adding addition of content to the game or class upgrades which we're seeing lots on in the patch 7.2.5. We knew that patches are expected to come out often, and 7.2.5 sort of ended being released around the E3 date, but it's more likely a coincidence than anything else.

It's become regular release of new content. It's like almost on a well-oiled machine at this moment.

It's slightly oiled. We're sure there's much effort that goes into every one of these patches no matter how small But we're very happy to have been able to, up to this point offer a variety of patches. 7.2 was just a few days ago; we just landed upon Broken Shore, and have been pushing for The Tomb of Sargeras cheap WOTLK Classic Gold . In 7.2.5 the game will see that raid opening and also some additional little bits of content landing in the same way, whether it's an Chromie-related scenario, new micro-holidays, brawls, etc.
